چکیده

Transcritical R744 (CO2) heat pumps are a low-GWP high-efficiency alternative for domestic hot water generation and space heating. For high set-point temperatures, however, the COP drops optimum operating pressure increases. this reason, effect on system performance achieved by inclusion of an Intermediate Heat Exchanger (IHX) is analyzed in depth. This carried out means numerical-experimental approach which effectiveness IHX other characteristic parameters pump cycle studied as function transfer area. The numerical modeling components implemented transient simulations heating-up process. Experimental tests with without water-to-water that feeds accumulator tank, to assess its influence system’s electrical consumption. Simulations reveal improving efficiency IHX, increasing exchange area, improves performance. cases higher lower. heating experiments, resulting thermodynamic 7.55 % case while effective increases 4.26 %. In consequence, use recommended conditions analyzed.

The Internal Heat Exchanger in a Transcritical Co2 Refrigerator: an Experimental Study

The classical substances as Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) used as working fluids in the vapour compression plants have to be replaced by new substances because of their ozone depletion potential and their greenhouse effect. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is non-toxic, non-flammable, has zero ozone depletion potential and negligible global warming potential as refrigerant. Referring to a transcritical ...

Field Evaluation for Air-source Transcritical CO2 Heat Pump Water Heater with Optimal Pressure Control

Several optimal discharge pressure correlations for transcritical CO2 heat pump in literature have been discussed in this paper. Most of them are related to the ambient temperature, the evaporation temperature and the gas cooler outlet temperature. A revised optimal discharge pressure model as the function of ambient temperature and water outlet temperature is developed based on earlier experim...

Effect of Internal Heat Exchanger on Performance of Transcritical CO2 Systems with Ejector

The objective of this paper is to explore whether the use of an internal heat exchanger can further improve the performance of transcritical ejector systems with C02 as the working fluid. Instead of using a simplified thermodynamic cycle analysis, the approach taken here is based on a more elaborated and experimentally validated system model for a real mobile air-conditioning system for a typic...

Experimental investigation on the influencing factors of a transcritical CO2 heat pump

As one of the earliest natural refrigerants, CO2 has a lot of unique advantages, such as zero ODP, negligible GWP, excellent heat transfer coefficient, high volumetric capacity, non-toxicity, non-flammability, and cost effectiveness. Since it was proposed to applying in the mobile air-conditioning, the transcritical CO2 cycle has been attracting great attentions to replace CFC and HCFC refriger...
